The Wadwaai Lemsteraak was built in 1968 at Claassen Jachtbouw and was completely re-panelled in 1984 at the famous Stofbergh boatyard in Leimuiden.

The vessel had a full refit in 2018 and the shiny ‘new’ yacht then immediately rejoined our fleet. During this refit, the vessel also underwent modifications in order to offer everything that a luxury charter yacht should offer.

The vessel has a spacious saloon with 2 tables and 2 U-shaped seating areas, a large kitchen with oven, chart table, bath and shower and in the forward cabin, 3 cabins providing 8 berths (2 + 2 + 4 beds).

“Een weekend naar de Wadden”

Vrijdag early check in bij de sluis en 's middags via Kornwederzand naar Oudeschild. Zaterdag naar Harlingen en zondag weer terug naar Workum. Helaas was de brug kapot bij Kornwederzand dus dat kostte veel tijd en zorgde ook voor de nodige drukte in de sluis.

“Geweldige ervaring met Super-Schipper Sies”

We made a 3-day tour with ship "the Wadwaai" on the Friesian lakes. This was an unforgettable experience! Because of the bad weather, we couldn't go out to the Wadden Islands. However, sailing the lakes was definitely a great experience. The ship was very large and comfortable, also to accommodate larger groups up to 10 people. It was spacious and well maintained. Sailing this boat requires quite a hands on crew.
Our shipper Sies was the best! Very skilled and knowledgeable and a pleasure to have around!
Great experience!

“Wadwaai”

Zeilt echt erg goed, ook alle scherpe jachten kunnen de Wadwaai niet bijhouden. Wel wat meer gedoe met hijsen, tandwielkast en een hoop gedraai.
Motor ook goed en krachtig

“Schönes Schiff aber anspruchsvoll”

Wir hatten die Waadwai und waren damit sehr zufrieden. Viel Platz, gute Ausstattung, liebevolle Details und gut zu segeln. Aber man sollte doch mindestens zwei starke Personen an Bord haben, die Handhabung des Segels (insbesondere das Setzen und Bergen) erfordert Kraft und Geschick.
Wir haben das Schiff auf der Ijsselmeerseite der Workumer Schleuse übernommen und sind dann zunächst durch Workum ins Landesinnere gefahren. Dabei konnte man gleich ein Gefühl dafür bekommen, dass das Handling und die Übersichtlichkeit des Schiffes bei den engen Gegebenheiten doch gewisse Anforderungen stellen.
Auf jeden Fall ein toller Urlaub.

“Een weekend met de Wadwaai”

We hadden een weekend met 5 á 6 Bft maar met een dubbel gereefd grootzeil was het prima te doen. Op Zondag haalden we zelfs een snelheid van meer dan 9 mijl. De elektrische zwaardbediening en de elektrische grootschoot bediening geven veel gemak net als het afmeren met de boegschroef als hulp.

We hebben de Wadwaai gehuurd voor een weekend. Prachtige Lemsteraak. Comfortabel en een lekkere verwarming. Uiteindelijk zijn we in de wedstrijd op de 2e plaats geëindigd.

Op vrijdag om 12:00 vertrokken vanaf de Sluis in Workum en die dag naar Enkhuizen. Zaterdag via de Marker Wadden naar Hoorn en zondag weet terug en afleveren bij de Sluis. Leuke stadjes en heel veel kunnen zeilen.

“Skipper”

„Die Wadwaai ist eine tolle Lemsteraak mit hervorragenden Segeleigenschaft und einem überdurchschnittlichen Standard und Komfort. Die Crew fühlte sich sowohl im Schiff als auch beim Segeln sehr wohl und auch bei Starkwind jederzeit sicher. Das Schiff ist seglerisch übersichtlich ausgestattet, reagiert prompt und lässt sich sehr leich und exakt trimmen und steuern. Für ambitionierte Segler lässt es kaum Wünsche offen.
Auch die Innenausstattung ist toll, umfassend, bequem und sehr grosszügig. Einzig die Kojen sind für hochgewachsene Crewmitglider etwas kurz und unbequem, doch das lässt sich mit den Schlafplätzen im Salon gut korrigieren.
Das SCF-Team ist sehr darum bemüht, dass die Chartercrew einen unvergesslichen Törn erleben kann. Die Vorbereitungen sind perfekt, die Bedienung, die Kommunikation und die Informationen schnell und umfassend. Das Team stellt Schiffe von hoher Qualität in sehr gutem Zustand zur Verfügung und der Service – wenn er dann mal benötigt wird – klappt auch während dem Törn ausgezeichnet.
Ein rundum tolles, nettes, sypatisches Team und eine Wadwaai die zum Wiederkommen animiert – ganz herzlichen Dank.“

Payment is either in advance, alternatively we can pay and then settle with our customers in cash, upon their arrival at the harbour. Shopping will then be delivered to the yacht whilst it is, moored in the harbour, or to the Sail Charter Friesland office.

Bed linen

Anyone chartering a yacht can order bed linen from us; simply use the booking form when booking online, or this can be done via e-mail.

The costs are EUR 20.00 per person, which includes: duvet, sheets, pillow case, etc. Bed linen will be placed on board the yacht, but the beds will not be made up in advance.

Sailing with skipper

Some of our larger Lemsteraken we also offer including Skipper. This offer is meant for guests who have little (or no) experience with flat bottom sailing but still want to enjoy the special atmosphere aboard these classic yachts.
The hired skipper can handle the ship on the engine alone. Sailing this is another story. The guests are expected to cooperate in sailing the ship. Experience is not necessary, but is a bonus.

We also offer some of our larger Lemsteraken sailing yachts for sailing trips with a Skipper. This offer is intended for guests who have little (or no) experience with flat-bottomed sailing, but still want to enjoy the special atmosphere on board these classic sailing yachts. Rental of a vessel with no experience in flat-bottomed sailing? No problem! Sailing courses, maneuvring courses and sailing tuition are part of our charter programme.
